  • Congratulations to Amy Thomas and Heather Diaz who received the April Golden Apple Award. They are committed to the Superintendent's Core Expectation of Excellence for volunteering to co-lead the SPS Relay for Life team on behalf of cancer patients and their families.

  • Congratulations to Emily Richardson who received the March Golden Apple award. She is committed to the Superintendent’s Core Expectation of Teamwork.  Emily works as the face of South Providence at the front desk. She kept the front office working efficiently while administration filled the vacant bookkeeper position.

  • Congratulations Ms. Sutton for being awarded Teacher of the Year for South Providence 2012-2013!

First 5k Run/Walk for UCPS teachers huge success photo

First 5k Run/Walk for UCPS teachers huge success

More than 700 runners, walkers, volunteers, and spectators gathered in historic downtown Monroe recently to show their support for Union County teachers. The June 1, 2013, “Running for the U” 5K Run/Walk raised more than $17,000, all of which will go into the classrooms of Union County Public School teachers via mini-grants administered by the Union County Education Foundation. These mini-grants will help teachers purchase items for use in their classrooms.

Running for U - 5k Run/Walk for Union County Teachers

On Saturday, June 1, 2013, runners and walkers will take to the streets of Historic Downtown Monroe to show their support of Union County teachers. All proceeds from this event will go to UCPS teachers through the classroom mini-grant program administered by the Union County Education Foundation. These mini-grants help our teachers purchase items for use in their classrooms.
