Welcome Back!!
Dear Students:
I am honored to have been selected as your new principal. As you embark on the 2009-2010 school year, I want you to know that the members of the faculty, staff and administration of South Providence School are here to facilitate your success.
South Providence School is committed to your success. We will continue to use Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS). We will also continue to incorporate the Nurtured Heart approach into our school’s PBIS system. What this means for you is that we will all do our part to teach you the skills necessary to achieve academic and social growth. More importantly, it is our intent to teach you the skills necessary to be successful in all aspects of your lives.
The focus of South Providence School will continue to be our four school-wide behavioral expectations: Responsibility, Respect, Kindness, and Safety. We will teach you what those expectations mean to our school community, with the hope that you will be able to transfer those lessons learned to the community at large.
I look forward to this new school year with great excitement and I hope that you do to. As you approach this new school year, I hope you will consider these words by Colin Powell: “Try to do your best today, think about tomorrow and maybe dream a bit about the future. But doing your best in the present has to be the rule.”
Have a great year!
Sincerely,
Barry L. Ross
Principal
